Esperanza has been living, traveling, eating, and cooking in Mexico since 1981. She specializes in the cuisines of the Central Highlands. She’s cooked for everyone from The Band to former Cardinal Juan Jesús Posadas Ocampo of Guadalajara.
Prior to coming to Mexico, she was first a Chinese chef and then a provincial-French chef in restaurants in upstate New York. Bilingual and considered to be bicultural, she can answer your cooking questions as well as provoke discussion in either English or Spanish about numerous areas of Mexican ingredients, recipes, and kitchen traditions.
But watch out…she’s a grammar and spelling maniac. And neatness counts, except for your apron, which should be the messier the better.
