Minerva López (b. 1934)
by Gallery Kyron Art

Minerva balances multiple fields of geometric designs, rectangular spirals, parallel zigzags and represents indoor-outdoor dwellings on her primary design field. Within these major areas Minerva lays secondary design fields: broad-stroked flashes of movement that often suggest body painting--an art in which there is little symbolism to interfere with pure painting. As a third field, she adorns the secondary fields with the meticulously applied motif of a specific energizing ritual.

Although the individual design fields are intricately and independently elaborated, it is the totality of fields that stands out as the grandest design of all.
