FESTIVALS IN MEXICO IN JUNE & JULY

Hello,

I'm doing my yearly trip to Mexico. I will be there between Jun 16th and July 18th. Can someone give me some suggestions about festivals during this time. I know about the wine/cheese festival in Tequisquiapan. I prefer the obscure stuff in villages versus the big stuff but will appreciate all info. I'm still looking for the book called Festivales Populares written in Spanish. I would be willing to pay top dollar for this. Has anyone done the bus ride from DF to Merida lately? Comments?

Hello Tony,

Here is my fiesta wish list of events between June 16th and July 18th. Although I would love to say that I have visited these places, these dates and places come from research.

• San Miguel de Allende, around June 12, Fiesta de San Antonio de Padua
• San Juan del Río, June 15, (54 km. south of Quetétero Bautista)
• San Juan Teotihuacán, June 24
• San Juan Carapán, Jalisco
• Santiago Tuxtla, Veracruz
• Juanacatlán, Jalisco, July 17
• Catemaco, Veracruz, July 17, Fiesta de Virgin de Carmen

I'll keep my eye out for other special events for you if I come across any before you go. Buena suerte.
