  • A VIEWER'S GUIDE TO
    ACCESS MEXICO CONNECT

    ¡Welcome to Access Mexico Connect!

Access Mexico Connect is an ever-expanding encyclopeadia of basic and fascinating information on all aspects of Mexico -
the country, its people, its culture and places to visit or live, as well as everything the business person needs to do business in, with or from Mexico.

Mexico - her people, places, business, culture, history, travel and art

Access Mexico Connect's goal is to present Mexico to the world in a fair and honest manner. Mexico is a unique, diverse and exciting country. It is very different from its two northern neighbors - the US and Canada. Yet, because it is so close to these countries, it is often misrepresented, misunderstood, or subject to biased news and travel reporting.

Mexico is far more than just beaches, sun, beer, pyramids and cheap labor.

The secret is to explore Mexico for yourself. Access Mexico Connect is designed to help you do just that.

This Viewer's Guide is your introduction as to how best to explore and use this Site.

    SUBSCRIPTION AND FREE SITES

Access Mexico Connect is actually two sites:

mexconnected.com - which is a Subscription site - a 12 month subscription is $30.00 USD only 58 cents per week!
    and
    mexconnect.com - which is a free site.

To learn about the benefits of the subscription site over the free site read this page.

    OVERVIEW

There are 7 major major parts to the Access Mexico Connect set of sites:

    The Magazine
Every month there is a new issue containing 15 to 30 new articles. All the articles are integrated into the Resource Base.

    Resource Base
This is the heart of the site. Containing over 12,000 articles and 2,700 photographs, it provides the most comprehensive source of information about Mexico on the Internet. It is divided into different cross-referenced sections.

    The Forums (subscription)
There are currently 18 Forums that provided direct interaction between readers. They each deal with a particular aspect of Mexico. General Information is one, as is Living, working and retiring in Mexico. Forums focusing on specific regions include the Central Pacific Region (Jalisco, Colima and Nayarit); "El Bajio" Central Highlands (Guanajuato, Michoacan, Queretaro); Gulf of Mexico (Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco); Jalisco's Lake Chapala Region); the North Pacific Region (Sonora, Sinaloa, Baja California, Baja California Sur); the South Pacific Region (Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas); and the Yucatan Peninsula (Campeche, Yucatan, Quintana Roo). Those seeking home exchanges, rentals and sales will find a Forum dedicated to this. The Technical Forum deals with technology in Mexico. There is a Forum devoted to construction and building issues and practices, a "Mexican products and services only" business Forum, a "Learning Spanish" Forum, a Mexico travel forum and a forum dedicated to Mexican Cuisine. Finally, there is a Practice and Help Forum for those wanting to learn the system.

    The Services
These are special functions that enable you to have a very versatile email account, find a job, book a hotel, place or find an event, place or search the Classified Ad system, and so on.

    The Sponsors & Advertisers
Throughout the site you will find links to the businesses that make Mexico Connect possible - the Sponsors and Advertisers. Please make use of their services. After all, without them, you wouldn't be reading this!
    The Search functions
With such a vast collection of resourcs and articles, the search functions (one for the Resource base and one for the Forums' 25,000 postings)are very effective in helping you find exactly what you need. And, if it isn't in Mexico Connect, the Mexico-only data base of sites offers 2,500 other places to look!
    The Loyal Readers (like you!)
Each month there are more than 500,000 sessions (people coming in to read). Through the various Forums, they, too, are part of the resource base available to you. If you want to know some more about them, here is a link to the results of our on-going Readership Survey.

    FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND

(All underlined words or phrases are direct Links to that section.
Just click on the words to go there!.)

Where ever you are, you can always find your way by using the navigation bar that appears on every page atthe top and the bottom. Many pages also offer a detailed navigation resource on the left side of the page (just like on this page).

You can use the search function to look for specific things.

You can use the "Index of Indexes" to find subjects and places.

    SPECIFICS

There are 10 main areas of information:

      SEARCHABLE INDEX -

This ever expanding resource section will answer the majority of your questions on each of these subjects. If it doesn't, then the LWR Forum will!

    4. MEXCIO TRAVEL -

The Travel Section is probably our most popular.
It has four main parts: "Areas of Mexico," "Travel & Tours," "The Photo Gallery" and the Traveling Mexico Forum.

"Areas of Mexico" There is information on specific States and cities and areas of interest, including descriptions, travel articles, listings for accommodation, restaurants and services for that area,
"Travel & Tours" includes both "Do it Yourself" tours/itineraries, as well as Guided Tours to see such phenomena as the Monarch Butterflies and the Copper Canyon.

Designed to assist the foreign business person in learning how to do business in Mexico, as well as for the Mexican business person to export to or import from Canada and the U.S. This Section has an extensive collection of factual, advisory and reference information, including "Background Information" - "How To's" - "Who to Know's and the Mexico Business Forum

    7. ABOUT THE FORUMS -

    8. SPONSOR'S/ADVERTISER'S LISTINGS -
