Jim Sweeney has been a high school English teacher, a tutor, a union organizer and the author of four audio tour tapes of Venice and Rome. Always fascinated by the influence of Neal Cassady on Jack Kerouac’s novel On The Road, Jim spent five weeks in San Miguel de Allende in 2002 researching the last days of this Beat icon.
He has traveled extensively in Mexico from the border towns of Nogales and Tijuana to Mexico City, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Tulum and many spots in between. He studied the indigenous cultures of Mexico at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel which further extended his love for all things Mexican. Jim and his wife Jerri Rae are the proud owners of a painting entitled Chicago by famed Mexican artist, Nicolas de Jesus.
Jim and Jerri Rae Sweeney live in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
