Eliza has been an English and creative writing teacher in NYC private schools for many years. She has also written fiction for most of her life, including two novels, for one of which she was a NY Caps grant finalist. She as ha BA in English from the University of Chicago and an MA in English from Columbia University.
Eliza and her husband spent fifteen marvelous months in Oaxaca, Mexico, starting in July, 2006. There she studied Spanish and wrote about the attempted overthrow of the governor.
Back home in Brooklyn she is teaching at Prep for Prep, an enrichment program for gifted minority students. Since returning, she has published an article on race in the presidential race on the webzine OpEdNews and a memoir on the webzine New Works Review. She is hoping to find more time to write in the new year.
Eliza lives with her husband, two children, and cat.
